Dr. Jon Snipes attended Clemson University as an undergraduate before pursuing his medical education at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Remaining at MUSC, he completed a residency in psychiatry, where he was selected as chief resident in his final year. Following this, in 2013 he became the inaugural graduate of the United States' first fellowship in brain stimulation for treatment-resistant depression and brain stimulation focusing on ECT, TMS, DBS, VNS, and ketamine treatments.
Over the ensuing decade, Dr. Snipes practiced psychiatry while serving as the Medical Director at the Carolina Center for Behavioral Health and program director of their brain stimulation service.
Concurrently, he oversaw a 36-bed inpatient chemical dependency unit, outpatient CDIOP/PHP, and an outpatient MAT service. With this extensive experience he was approved for board eligibility for Addictionology.
In 2018, his professional interests began expanding into IV nutrition and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (HRT), anti-aging medicine and regenerative medicine. Having undergone extensive training in the use of neurotoxin, dermal fillers, peptides and weight management, PRP, laser treatment and multiple other aesthetic procedures, he was granted board eligibility with both the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and achieved full board certification in 2024.
